One hour, every Friday morning

The Colleyville Lions Club meets every Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 6605 Pleasant Run Rd., Colleyville, TX 76034. It is a breakfast meeting, and it is over in an hour — you can be at your desk by nine.

There is no season and no break. The club has met on that schedule since it was chartered on June 1, 1982.

A Zoom option has been offered alongside the in-person meeting.

Visiting for the first time

You do not need an invitation to visit. Come to a Friday meeting, sit down, and see what the club is actually like before anyone asks you anything.

Telling us you are coming is not required, but it helps — someone will be watching for you at the door instead of leaving you to find your own way in.

What members actually do

Colleyville Lions run four fundraising and family events each year, and they serve between them: vision screening for children, eyeglass recycling, scholarships for local students, and the district and international programs the club supports.

Members are asked to report their service hours to club leadership, which is how the club qualifies for grants that fund the work.

Members are also asked to bring people. In the club's own words: invite your interested family and friends to join us at a service activity or one of our meetings.

How joining works

Two things are true at once, and the club says both: Lions membership is by invitation from a local club, and the Colleyville Lions always welcome new members who are willing to volunteer their time and effort for the communities they live in.

In practice that means the invitation is not a barrier. It is the last step, not the first. Membership is open to adults of legal majority and good reputation in the community. You come, you meet people, and someone asks you.
