The events
Four events, one purpose.
Pancakes in December. An egg hunt in spring. Two golf events that have run for decades. They look nothing alike, and they pay for the same work: vision screenings, college scholarships for local seniors, and a week at Texas Lions Camp for children who could not otherwise go.
None of them is run by staff. Members of this club set up the tables, cook the food, mark the course and clean up afterward.
Breakfast with Santa
December 5, 2026, 8:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Crown of Life Lutheran Church
Pancakes, photos with Santa, train rides and a Christmas tree maze. $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and one ticket covers a family of eight.
Easter Egg Festival
Spring
Crown of Life Lutheran Church
The egg hunt is free. Photos with the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo, bounce houses and free children's vision screening fill out the morning.
Knights of Sight Golf Tournament
Texas Star Golf Course, Euless
A shotgun-start scramble named for what Helen Keller asked the Lions to be in 1925: knights of the blind.
SightFirst Charity Hole-in-One
September 11 to 13, 2026
Bob Moore's Sports Center, Colleyville
Three days, one swing, $75,000. The club has run this shootout since 1988.
Where the money goes
It stays close to home.
- Scholarships. The Colleyville Lions Club Foundation has awarded college scholarships for over a decade, to seniors in GCISD, to students in Colleyville who attend private and parochial schools, and to homeschooled seniors.
- Vision. Free children's vision screening runs at both family events. Club members also volunteer at the District 2-E2 Eyeglass Recycling Center in Watauga, cleaning, sorting and packaging donated glasses for communities where eye care is hard to reach.
- Texas Lions Camp. The club donates every year to the residential camp in Kerrville that serves Texas children with physical disabilities, Down syndrome, cancer and Type 1 diabetes, at no cost to their families.
- Beds for children. Proceeds from the Hole-in-One shootout also help build beds for North Texas children.
