A pair of glasses or a hearing aid that you no longer need has the potential to transform someone else's life. Below, you can discover how to donate eyeglasses and hearing aids in Colleyville, as well as how to seek assistance if you or someone you know requires them.
Somewhere in a drawer, a junk box, or an old case, there's a pair of glasses or a hearing aid that isn't doing anyone any good anymore. Through the Lions Recycle For Sight program, the Colleyville Lions Club turns those forgotten items into something powerful: a child's ability to read the chalkboard, an adult's shot at steady work, a senior's independence.
Since 1917, Lions have led the fight against preventable blindness. In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions International to become the “Knights of the Blind in this crusade against darkness” — a challenge Lions have carried forward ever since, including here in Colleyville, where our club has served under that same mission since it was chartered in 1982. That commitment later grew to include hearing health as well, as Lions clubs recognized just how much untreated hearing loss can take from a person's daily life.
A Global Problem The Need is Bigger Than You'd Think
Clear vision changes lives, yet the World Health Organization estimates that at least 2.2 billion people worldwide live with a vision impairment — and at least 1 billion of those cases have never been addressed. In many of the communities Lions serve, a single pair of glasses can cost a month's wages.
Hearing loss carries the same weight. Without access to hearing aids, children fall behind in school, adults struggle to stay employed, and older adults become isolated from the people they love.

Eyeglasses

Hearing Aids
- Any brand, model, or age
- Functioning or non-functioning units are both accepted
1. Sorting
Glasses are separated by type: non-prescription, nearsighted, farsighted, bifocal, trifocal, progressive, and prism.
2. Cleaning
Each usable pair is washed, sanitized, dried, and inspected.
3. Measuring
Volunteers use specialized equipment to determine the exact prescription of each lens.
4. Distribution
Finished, mission-ready glasses are shipped to optical missions and humanitarian partners around the world.

Friday Club Meeting
Join us for breakfast Fridays at 6:45 AM; meeting runs 7:00 to 8:00 AM at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 6605 Pleasant Run Rd., Colleyville, TX 76034. Bring your donation, or contact us to arrange drop-off.

No box nearby? Take your donation straight to the recycling center: 5621 Bunker Blvd, Watauga, TX, Saturdays 9 AM to 3 PM, or mail to P.O. Box 1854, Keller, TX 76244.
Walmart Vision Center
Lions Clubs International partners with Walmart nationwide, drop off eyeglasses at any participating Vision Center. Call ahead to confirm.
