Global cause
Lions work on the disease and on the life around it.
Lions International states the goal plainly: we work to reduce the prevalence of diabetes and improve quality of life for those living with diabetes. Those are two different jobs. One is screening and education for people who do not yet know. The other is support for families already managing it every day.
- Awareness events that put diabetes in front of people who have never been screened.
- Health screening run alongside other Lions service days.
- Camp. Texas Lions Camp hosts Texas children living with type 1 diabetes at no cost to their families.

Texas Lions Camp takes children with type 1 diabetes, free of charge.
The camp is a residential summer camp in Kerrville for children from across Texas with physical disabilities, Down syndrome, cancer, type 1 diabetes and other special medical conditions. Everything is provided free of charge to campers and their families. Colleyville Lions donate to the camp every year and encourage local families to apply.
