Global cause
Lions work on the ground, because that is where the problem is.
Lions International's goal for this cause is to find ways to protect the environment to create healthier communities and a more sustainable world. It is deliberately unglamorous work: trees, trash bags, recycling bins and a Saturday.
- Planting: trees and green space that outlive the project that put them in.
- Cleanups: parks, creeks and roadsides, on a schedule rather than after a headline.
- Recycling: keeping usable things out of landfill and in front of someone who needs them.
[VERIFY: no current Colleyville Lions environmental project, cleanup, planting or recycling drive is documented. Until the club confirms one, this page carries global-cause language only and makes no local claim.]
The club's longest-running recycling effort has a lens in it.
Eyeglasses and hearing aids that would otherwise sit in a drawer or go in a bin get cleaned, sorted, measured and shipped to places where vision care is hard to reach. It is a recycling program with a person at the end of it.

Got an environmental project in mind? Bring it to a Friday meeting, and the club will tell you honestly whether it can staff it.
Make an impact with us.
The environment is one of eight global causes. If you want to start a local project, the club is the place to bring it.
