Lions International organizes its work around eight global causes. Here is where the Colleyville club fits in.
How we serve
Service starts on a Friday morning and ends up somewhere in the world.
Lions International organizes its service around eight global causes: childhood cancer, diabetes, disaster relief, the environment, humanitarian aid, hunger, vision and youth. The Colleyville Lions Club was chartered on June 1, 1982, and meets every Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m. at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 6605 Pleasant Run Rd. What the club takes on from that list depends on what this city actually needs.
- Vision. Free children's vision screening at the club's own family events, and volunteer shifts at the District 2-E2 Eyeglass Recycling Center.
- Youth. College scholarships for graduating seniors, the Peace Poster Contest, and support for Texas Lions Camp.
- Local support. Service that stays inside the city limits, plus the Drug Awareness Council, a District 2-E2 charity headquartered here in Colleyville.

In addition to the many ways Lions serve locally, we also work together on global causes.
Lions International is 1.4 million members serving in more than 200 countries and geographic areas. Colleyville is one club inside Texas Lions District 2-E2, inside that. The reach is real, and so is the breakfast meeting it starts from.

Two of the club's family events run free children's vision screening on site: Breakfast with Santa and the Easter Egg Festival. A parent brings a child for pancakes or an egg hunt, and leaves knowing whether that child can see the board at school.
