How it works

Closest to the hole, three days running.

Each of the three days produces three individual qualifiers, decided by who gets closest to the hole.

Those nine players, three from Friday, three from Saturday and three from Sunday, come back at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday for the Winner's Circle playoffs and one shot at the $75,000.

You do not need to be a golfer to come and watch. Between 300 and 500 people pass through across the three days.

The cause

What SightFirst is.

SightFirst is the Lions International program that funds eye care in places that have almost none: building and equipping eye clinics, training surgeons and eye-care workers, and treating the diseases that cause avoidable blindness.

Lions International has worked on sight since 1925, when Helen Keller asked the delegates at Cedar Point, Ohio, to become knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness.

This shootout carries the SightFirst name because that is the cause it is played for.

Where the money goes
